Development of 3D self-assembled platforms for colorectal cancer therapy

The present project aims to develop automated, self-assembling 3D platforms with drug-based drug-based nanoparticles and composite nanogels for colorectal cancer therapy. Colorectal cancer is a topical topic because it has a global impact and is one of the leading causes of death. Given the increased incidence of this disease, colorectal cancer management has gained a lot of attention in global research by trying both to mitigate the risks and to stop the progression of the disease. The novelty and originality of the project come from the combination of natural polymers (natural silk), zeolite inorganic systems and active principles for the development of colloidal nanoparticles and composite nanogels that can then be assembled into 3D controlled release platforms. These 3D platforms or autoassamble bionanoarhitectures are loaded with various active principles and can be administered orally for more effective cancer management. Once they penetrate into the bloodstream of the body, these systems disintegrate and accumulate in tumors where they will provide a controlled release profile of the loaded drugs. 3D-type multi-component systems are a new type of formulation that proposes to replace the classic method of administering chemotherapeutic drugs and provides an innovative solution for intelligent administration.
